"It's like you're inside my head" "OMG I was thinking about that but had no idea where to start!" "You do that too? Is that something you can help me with?" I'm pretty proud to say these have all been reactions to working with me from happy clients over the past 15 years as a designer. I call myself the Design Superwoman, I fly in, fix problems and fly away until I'm needed again, like a super secret weapon in their back pocket that gets things done. Maybe it's the sparkly brain I've been blessed with or the fact that I am the eldest daughter of a small business owner, but I have always had a deep curiosity for how things work and how they can work better. It's all well and good to build a brand or design something that shows it off, but if it's not there to help the client make money or part of a larger business plan, then it's time to rethink the plan. I've always been problem-seeking and solution-focused and this has shown in my work. Before I begin any project, whether it be a rebrand, web build or any other touchpoint I design for a client, I like to start with what problem we are trying to solve. This way, we know where were are headed and have a clear target, whilst also keeping an eye out for other opportunities that may be just outside our peripheral vision for the creative solution.
